Today, two years after my cx455 odyssey began, I have finally rescued all my cds from this shoddy player. Tracks began skipping on brand new CDs that had gone straight from the jewel case into the player. Of course, because I had waited so long to set up the unit, the warranty had expired. Yes, I hate it that much. When I get around to buying a new 300 or 400 disc changer, I can assure you it will be anything but a Sony. I received the player two years ago as a Christmas gift. After I finish writing this review, I will be taking the unit out back and destroying it with a sledgehammer. Soon after, it stopped working all together.
Unfotunately, I didn't hook it up to my system and load it with 400 cds for some six months. It worked ok at first, but then the problems described by so many other reviewers began happening. I thought about having it repaired, but then read some of these negative amazon reviews and decided it would not be worth it given the CD scratching-and-scuffing problems others have mentioned.I'm back to using my old Sony 200 disc changer, which is still running strong after 8 years. They have lost a formerly loyal customer for life.
This CD player started skipping badly on almost every song I tried to play. When I pulled out my CD's I noticed that they were badly scratched all around the edges. Don't even think about buying this CD player unless you want to throw away thousands of dollars worth of CD's. I wanted to give this item a zero star rating, but the lowest option they allow is a one.
love not having to change cd's all the time. its a little slow when going from cd to cd but all in all is a great product.
Great CD Player. Just what I was looking for. Quick service also. Thank you.
I have 2 more 400 disc cd players already, and I just added another to increase my collection. For the price you can't go wrong with SONY. I haven't had any problems with mine. Will buy another if still available when this one fills up.
